Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt

A comeback Medvedev won his initial title for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has endured a torrid period, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

His varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in specific - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and ultimately splitting with long-time mentor his previous coach.

Presently working with Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's first championship after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since spring of the previous year.

Success also means Medvedev has won twenty-one championships at 21 distinct competitions.

"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my children together, so to win a title is really nice," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, featuring in Halle previously this season.

His defensive approach and regular outbursts on the tennis court had led some to question if his capacity to perform at the elite level was finished.

However the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete assertively, reinforced by an better serve.

He came back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, securing four of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The pair exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first professional title, seized the initiative to push for a final set.

Moutet defended four initial break points in a competitive final set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to close out the victory.

Fittingly, Medvedev clinched victory with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
