I'll dominate 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize next month's boxing match.

Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's greatest financial successes, regularly earning huge paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually proceeding.
